I live with my family nearby Pewsey, and love the area and our community. I am standing as a local Councillor candidate for Pewsey because I want to bring the values of community, fairness, and a focus on peoples’ real needs including a strong sense of community and belonging, to the centre of Wiltshire Council’s decision making.
I would love to play my part in representing Pewsey at Wiltshire Council and believe we have some real priorities to address: supporting our local businesses and the community as we recover from the pandemic, building back stronger with a positive vision for a greener local economy, much improved transport links, rebuilding services for young people and making local democracy and decisions a reality.
I started my working life working at Fawley Refinery in industrial relations and have run a successful business in leadership and equalities working with leading companies and with government for over 30 years. Nowadays I am a Charity Trustee with Opendoors (the charity tackling homelessness in Devizes) and love being active in my local community.
I am a practical person who loves getting things done! Recently I have been volunteering with PCCA in Pewsey helping to organise the Covid 19 response (eg delivery of meals to those in most need and setting up a Buddy group of volunteers to have a weekly chat with those isolating and lonely in Pewsey.)
