Ian JonesI have lived in Wiltshire for several years and am married with two children, both educated in local schools. I am standing as a local Councillor candidate for Amesbury East and Bulford because I believe our community deserves better and deserves a fresh voice. Our community also deserves someone who listens to you and your concerns.
Should I be elected my key priorities will involve supporting local business as they support the jobs and thriving local economy that we depend on. I’d also support policies that foster social justice and fairness. I’ll not only fight for investment in our valuable local services but examine how they can be delivered more effectively. I feel our public transport links, libraries and swimming pool facilities need more attention.
Professionally I am an independent financial planner assisting small and medium sized businesses and also have experience working in local government. I enjoy helping people from a broad range of backgrounds which I can put to effective use as a councillor. I am also passionate about links with the Armed Forces and am a member of Labour Friends of the Forces.
In my spare time I am a school governor and a Volunteer Director of a local residents housing association. I have witnessed first hand the challenges many have faced during the Covid crisis, but equally we should be immensely proud at how so many have risen to the occasion, often at great personal sacrifice.
I would love the opportunity to serve our community and get things done!
